TSW 6th/7th Graders (yes,
not 5th/6th Graders any more!):
Congratulations on another successful tournament weekend!
We are really coming together and playing well as a team.
We had very good defense, which led to many easy transition
baskets, and the interior passing was excellent! Then to
hold the same team to 5 and 4 points is exemplary of our
strong defense and rebounding.
For the game against the
Swoosh team (first game on Sunday), you should know that
that was a put-together team made up of six incoming 9th
graders, one 11th grader and TWO 12th graders! So, for us
to be very competitive and come up just 4 points short against
players that are 3 to 6 years older than us is really saying
something.

As you all know, the last
five months with this team has not been an easy road and
included a big transition. I really appreciate all who have
stuck it out through the process.
In addition, it is clear that the fruits of our labors were
displayed in our last two tournaments:
A first place finish in our Pool in San Diego, and our Championship
Performance throughout this weekend.
The players are beginning to understand that its the overall
effort, execution, inspired play, and TEAMWORK on both ends
of the floor that make a team a SUCCESSFUL TEAM.
Congratulations to all the players!
I'd also like to thank Coach Scott for stepping in to help
out when needed. Much appreciated!
Now, let's not rest on our laurels, but keep working together
to continue to improve.
We are scheduled to play this coming weekend as well. Please
check your emails and stay posted
I'm proud of each of you!

Big City Sports Spring
Jamboree
To all TRIPLE S WARRIORS, the boys 13u this
past weekend won the BIG CITY SPORTS Spring Jamboree tournament.
Along the way we had to beat a very good ABA team and in
the finals we defeated the tough L.A. Predators for the
title. The double overtime victory in the final game featured
2 buzzer beaters, one with 3 seconds left and the ball 90
feet from the basket, the other just 1 second left and again
90ft. from the basket, that is as far as you can get. But
we somehow scored twice, Louis making both buzzer beaters
and Niki swishing a 3 as the clock ran out at the end of
the second overtime for the win. It was and will be the
most amazing game I will ever see in my life. Those lucky
enough to attend the GAME OF THE CENTURY are still BUZZING
2 days later. It was the game of the century as far as I
am concerned, and something all the boys and parents present
will remember for the rest of their lives, you would not
believe it even if you were there, I am still thinking about
it, it was that amazing. All I can say is GO WARRIORS and
see you at Clinic because that is where it all starts. (for
more details, see Coaches Comments).
Triple S Sports
started in the summer of 2006 with the simple thought of
getting our team more practice time. Once a week, some months
only a couple of practices will just not get it done if
you want to improve your game, become an impact player,
and increase your enjoyment of the great sport of basketball,
which has now supplanted all other sports and become the
number 1 youth participatory sport in the United States.
Our simple idea of getting quality gym time twice a week
has rapidly evolved into a full 5 day a week basketball
workout program where everyone is welcome, both boys and
girls ages 5-18. We are based at the Spectrum Club in El
Segundo and are fortunate to use one of the top basketball
facilities in the Southland, currently the official practice
site of the Los Angeles Clippers.
When you come
to a Triple S workout be prepared to work hard. The first
step and an important one is that you will get in better
condition. Being in the proper condition to play hard will
already give you a head start on the court. Workouts will
focus on the fundamentals of the game, situational drills,
and team concepts all structured to help elevate your level
of play and allow you to experience more success on the
court.
We believe
that team sports are a great tool in the development of
character and a solid work ethic, practices and game situations
at the same time will reveal character and show us what
we need to work on. As we all know it is not only about
winning and losing games, sure we all want to win, and we
respect and want to nurture that competitive spirit at all
of our workouts. We know that by attending and working hard
you will improve your skills and become a better basketball
player. That being said we equally value sportsmanship,
court demeanor, being a good teammate and a successful student.
All of these elements are a vital part of the game at Triple
S Sports. As our current members and children grow and move
forward, these skills will be even more valuable in daily
life. If we can just make the assist, we are happy to do
so. “ Make a positive impact, make positive impacters,
put the ball in the hoop, and don’t forget to have
some fun.” If we can do this, regardless of the score
we are all winners.
